General Mills’ corporate reputation in the U.S. continues to rise.


The company posted its highest “reputation score” in the last 15 years, according to the latest Harris Poll.

General Mills was ranked No. 13 – up from No. 16 in 2016.

The online poll was conducted in 2016 among more than 23,000 people in the U.S. between Nov. 29 and Dec. 16

The poll measures the reputation of the 100 “most visible” companies in the U.S. across six general areas:

  • Social responsibility
  • Vision and leadership
  • Financial performance
  • Products and services
  • Emotional appeal
  • Workplace environment

Our overall corporate reputation score of 81.15 is our highest over the past 15 years and places us among the 17 companies on the list with a score over 80, which is considered “excellent” by Harris.

“The clear majority of Americans have talked about, advocated, or used reputation as a lens through which to make a purchase decision," according to Harris. "The business value of a company’s reputation has never been higher.”

Amazon was again at the top of the corporate reputation list, followed by Wegmans, Publix Super Markets, Johnson & Johnson and Apple.
